Anyone enjoys DIY stuff?

Image
I enjoy DIY stuff. It allows me to be in a space where my mind can switch off for awhile. My DIY stuff  range from kiddos' handicraft for school (which I do not have a choice) to accessories (using Daiso stuff & my fav shopping haven) or just some nick nacks, simply for the fun of it. Oh... not forgetting that the DIY stuff extends to include essential oils too.  While Youtube has been a real handy friend most times, nothing beats attending workshops or class to learn the fundamentals and master the skills. Some of the craft stuff I do are from attending workshops with Artify Studio. You have gotta check them out just because they are damn cool and relaxed and quite fun. My kids attend art classes there and I am not paid to advertise them.  Anyway, my latest crafts are (1) using T-shirt yarn  (or old cotton T-shirt) to finger-knit bracelet or necklace. It is simple and pretty cool result. As the saying goes, practise makes perfect; so it is the most awesome and...

Appreciation Tribute to Caterpillar Cove's Teachers

And so, this is where modermumwriter began. Wrote an appreciation note to all staff at Big K's K2 Graduation 2 Fridays ago (13 Oct 2017). I am happy I made the right choice to switch both boys and watched them blossom over the past year. =============== Humans grow and blossom overtime. And TONIGHT, our kids GREW from caterpillars and blossomed from their cocoons into butterflies and future warriors! Cove, as unique as its name, provides a strong teacher support, innovative and values-driven platforms, enriching the minds and quest for knowledge of our little warriors, empowering them to BELIEVE, CREATE, step out of their comfort zones and into a world of the unknown wilderness, painting their own colourful canvas. This has moulded them into confident, grounded, loving, and authentic warriors. IT IS by no accident why Cove was all our choices. Cove has INDEED created such an open, warm and trusting environment that has embraced us parents, instilling our continued trust in yo...

MordernmumINC????

Should have posted this as first post but was just too excited about writing again.  Am not a great writer. Decided to give this another attempt, under a different name/branding this time.  modernmumINC? It kinda took shape when I started to bake for my kiddos under 3 years ago and each bake post was watermarked with "modernmumbaker". As a new-age mum, I wanted to be everything my mum wasn't. Because of family business, mum was always busy working and hardly cooked or baked or do as much things a stay-at-home mum does.  Hence this self-coined "modernmumbaker" because I attemptted to bake for the not-so-little ones; and eventually modernmum labels for different things I do with and for my kiddos. This eventually formed nicely into modernmumINC. And the journey ahead is endless for modernmumINC; so much can be created and done under this label tag. While modernmumbaker's journey has been about 3 years old, modernmumINC's journey has just started. Who k...

Black vs White Muffins (Double Choc vs Oreo)

Image
Baked a batch of Double Choc and Oreo Muffins for Big K's class picnic (19 Oct 17). Hadn't baked so many muffins in a day; it is tiring. While it's tiring, it is heartening to see the big bright happy face as well as reviews from colleauges.  Am not a great baker, I can only manage a few simple recipes and bakes such as chiffon cakes, sponge cakes, muffins and super limited cookies. So long as the 'customers' (aka kids, family, friends, colleagues) enjoy my bakes, I am happy. ☆modernmumbaker☆
